Talk about a find. I’m addited to this food network show “diners drive-ins and dives” and this past weekend while in Fort Worth, I decided to lookup a good dinner for breakfast. I went to the DDD’s site and found Fred’s […]

Clay pit

well, for once no bitching, complaining or ranting, I like this place! The decor is great and comfortable, ask for the “cave” for a more romantic setup.
The Indian menu is extensive and interesting, staples are there as well as interesting dishes that I’d never […]

2 years ago when we first arrived in Austin, Jessica listed Parkside as one of the first restaurant that we should visit. For whatever reason we never went, … until 2 weeks ago!

Mandola’s update
Tuesday, 17 August 2010
Last year I reviewed Mandola’s Italian market. My review was positive and can be read here. My wife and I didn’t go to Mandola for a couple of months and just went back yesterday for an Italian fix.

Austin Diner
Monday, 1 March 2010

Taqueria Arandas

I craved mexican food for 2 weeks and Jessica finally gave in! So last night we decided to find an authentic, small, not fancy and “frequented by locals” mexican restaurant. As far as local we hit the spot, the restaurant is located not even 5 minutes from where we live. I believe that authentic is a term that fits with the place It’s not authentic in the sense that you feel in Mexico (or that the decoration comes from there like at the Fonda San Miguel, review to come) but in the sense that it’s not a franchise (I believe that there are 3 establishments under the same name though), not a corporate chain or a heavily marketed location.
